Clay Target


Trap Shooting is the fastest growing high school activity in the state of Minnesota with over 10,000 participants in the 2016 spring season! Open to both boys and girls of all experience levels, the Moundsview Trap Shooting Team is a great way to develop your skills. We practice and compete at Metro Gun Club in Blaine in both the spring and the fall seasons.

How to get started: Spring 2017 Season  ****Deadline: March 7, 2017***

Step 1: Go to the Student Athlete Registration page.

  • The registrant must be the legal parent or guardian of the student athlete, OR the registrant is the student athlete and is 18 years of age or older.

Step 2: Login using an existing SportsEngine account, or create a new account. If creating a new account, you will first complete the account profile information, submit the information and, receive an email requiring you to activate your new account.

Step 3: Complete the registration form.

  • When prompted for the Athlete Registration Password, enter “MN52873”.
  • You will be required to choose one of the League-approved firearm safety certificate options that will require certification verification before the Reserve Week begins:
    1. A state-approved hunter education certification
    2. The League’s Student Athlete Firearm Education (SAFE) Certification
  • League registration fees will be coordinated again through Mounds View Community Education. You will need to also register on that site (click here) and pay the activity fee.
  • When you have completed the registration process, you will receive a receipt via email.
  • Within 24 hours, you will receive a confirmation email with further details and information from the League.

Registration must be completed by Midnight on March 7, 2017 or you will not be allowed to participate in the Spring 2017 Season. There are no exceptions to this rule.

2017 Spring Team Schedule:

April 2: Practice Week 1. Each team will practice on their designated shooting day(s).

April 9: Practice Week 2.

April 16: Reserve Week. Scores are submitted via the coach’s Team Management System. These scores are saved for future use for the entire team if a team’s scheduled Competition Week is cancelled.

April 23: Competition Week 1. Shoot on your scheduled day(s) during the week and compete against all teams in your conference.

April 30: Competition Week 2.

May 7: Competition Week 3.

May 14: Competition Week 4.

May 21: Competition Week 5. Final team and individual results are published May 30th at 9:30 p.m.

May 28: Fun Week.

June 12-20: Trap Shooting Championship in Alexandria, MN.June 24: Minnesota State High School League State Tournament in Prior Lake.
